Following careful consideration and consultation with our stakeholders, CANSO has taken the difficult decision to postpone the CANSO Global Safety Conference 2026, which had been scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 23–26 August 2026.

This decision has not been taken lightly. In light of the ongoing situation in the Middle East, and with the safety and wellbeing of our participants, speakers, partners and staff as our highest priority, we believe this is the most responsible course of action. We also want to ensure that every CANSO event delivers the high-quality experience and level of international participation expected by our community.

All current registrations for the CANSO Global Safety Conference 2026 will be refunded in due course.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our hosts, SANS, for their continued dedication, partnership and support throughout the planning process. Their commitment to aviation safety and collaboration has been greatly valued, and we look forward to working together again in the future.

While we are disappointed not to gather in person this year, CANSO will instead deliver a dedicated “Safety Month” programme in September 2026. Produced in partnership with SANS, this will feature a series of webinars and virtual discussions focused on the key operational and strategic safety topics facing our industry. Further details will be shared in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, we look forward to bringing the community together at the planned joint CANSO Operations and Safety Connect 2027 in Ottawa, Canada, hosted by NAV CANADA, week commencing 22 February. We are exploring the opportunity to return to Jeddah in 2028 with SANS for a joint CANSO Operations and Safety event. Further details will be shared in due course.
